Bark in the Park
It's not every day you can take your dog to a ball game. But each summer, the Brooklyn Cyclones invite fans to bring their dogs to the annual Bark in the Park baseball game at MCU Park in Coney Island. Cyclones fans and their canine friends have the opportunity for an exciting "dog's day" of fun as the Cyclones take on another area team.
With participation by the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals and Maddie's Fund, the Pet Rescue Foundation, Bark in the Park features dog and cat adoptions from Alliance Participating Organizations and great photo ops for the kids with Maddie, the six-foot Miniature Schnauzer mascot from Maddie's Fund, and ballpark specials.
"We're delighted to continue our participation in this fun-filled, pet-friendly event," said Jane Hoffman, President of the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals. "It's a wonderful example of the kind of community involvement that can make a tremendous difference in the lives of homeless animals by increasing their visibility in the public eye."
"The Mayor's Alliance, Maddie's Fund, and the Brooklyn Cyclones share the goal of fostering positive family experiences," said Brooklyn General Manager Steve Cohen. "By teaming up for Bark in the Park, we hope to connect pet lovers and baseball fans for an exciting evening of family fun."

More Event Features
Giveaways to fans by the Mayor's Alliance, TD Bank, and Brooklyn Bark.
$6.25 meal vouchers for a hot dog (or veggie burger), soda, and chips will be available at the game from the Brooklyn Bark BarkMaster.
Puppy Paparazzi fans can post photos of their dogs dressed in Cyclones gear on the Brooklyn Cyclones' Facebook page for a chance to win the honor of tossing a ceremonial first pitch.
Fido Fashionista fans who think they have the best dressed pups can post their pictures on Facebook. Both these and Puppy Paparazzi pictures will be shown on the stadium's jumbotron throughout the game.
Stupid people tricks! In an entertaining, role-reversing contest, several dog owners will have the chance to come onto the field to act the part of the dog and attempt to complete tricks such as fetch and rolling over. We all think it looks easy when a dog catches a frisbee in his mouth, now let's see if humans can do it too!
Celebrity appearances by Pia Toscano from American Idol, and the stars of NYC Media's Doggie Moms.
