Brooklyn Cyclones Bark in the Park

It's not every day you can take your dog to a ball game. But each summer, the Brooklyn Cyclones invite fans to bring their dogs to the annual Bark in the Park baseball game at MCU Park in Coney Island. Cyclones fans and their canine friends have the opportunity for an exciting "dog's day" of fun as the Cyclones take on another team.

Each year, the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals participates in Bark in the Park by presenting dog and cat adoptions from Alliance Participating Organizations and other crowd-pleasing activities, including great photo ops for the kids with Maddie, the six-foot Miniature Schnauzer mascot from Maddie's Fund. Fans also enjoy ballpark specials offered by the Cyclones.

4:00–7:30 p.m.: Pet Adoptions, Dog Licensing, Microchipping & Preparedness Clinic

7:00: Game Begins

MCU Park, 1904 Surf Avenue, Coney Island, Brooklyn

Bring your dog to the ball game — or come and adopt a new best friend — as the Brooklyn Cyclones take on the Lowell Spinners! The stadium's bleacher section — renamed "The BOW-WOW Zone" for the night — will be reserved for those who bring their pooches to the game.

Pet Adoptions: Meet dogs and cats from Sean Casey Animal Rescue in front of MCU Park, 4:00–7:30 p.m.

Preparedness Clinic: Prepare your pet for emergencies with low-cost microchipping ($25 each dog or cat); dog licensing by the NYC Dept. of Health and Mental Hygiene; and emergency preparedness information for pets and people provided by the NYC Office of Emergency Management/Ready New York in front of MCU Park, 4:00–7:30 p.m.

Dog Parade: Take part in a pre-game trot around the field with your dog.

Maddie: Meet Maddie, the Maddie's Fund mascot, and watch her toss a ceremonial first pitch.

Special Performances: Enjoy rousing performances by Frisbee-chasing canine performers from Pawstars with Erich Steffensen on the field between innings.

Tickets are $10 and include one person and up to two dogs; seating in the bleacher section. To purchase tickets in advance, call (718) 382-2604. On the day of the game, you may purchase tickets at the Cyclones' box office. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to support the lifesaving programs of the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals.
