9:00 p.m.–1:00 a.m.
Surrogate’s Court, 31 Chambers Street, NYC

New York, NY – Thursday, September 29, 2011 – Fall has finally arrived and with it comes the hunt for New York City’s top Halloween parties. The Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals makes this year’s search easy with Creatures’ Ball, the blowout Halloween bash complete with great food, drink, music, and dancing — where party animals can save lives simply by purchasing tickets. Creatures’ Ball will celebrate and raise money to help NYC’s homeless animals — and it all happens in downtown Manhattan’s ghostly Surrogate’s Court (31 Chambers Street) on Saturday, October 29, from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Design and production courtesy of Avi Adler Studio is sure to create the perfect spooky setting, where beer from Brooklyn Brewery and açaí vodka from VeeV will be flowing generously from the bars, and sweet and savory treats skillfully crafted by Vérité Catering and Tastee Vegan will be served. Revelers can dance the night away to music DJ’ed by Vampire Weekend’s very own Rostam Batmanglij!

Celebrants will have the opportunity to see just how the money from their ticket purchases is helping to save the lives of New York City’s homeless animals through evocative video exhibitions, courtesy of (collabo!), that highlight the progress the Mayor’s Alliance has achieved toward its goal of transforming New York City into a no-kill community by 2015.

Additionally, Yelp, the online city guide that helps people find cool places to eat, shop, drink, relax and play, has signed on as the official media sponsor. Subscribers to The Weekly Yelp: New York newsletter will have a chance to win tickets to the event.

Tickets are priced at $150 each and can be purchased online. Costumes are requested and attendees must be at least 21 years of age. All ticket proceeds will benefit NYC’s animals through the life-saving programs of the Mayor’s Alliance.

While we absolutely love animals, we ask that you leave your companion animals safely at home when you come out to celebrate at Creatures’ Ball!

Mayor's Alliance for NYC's AnimalsAbout the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals®
The Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals, Inc., founded in 2002 and powered by Maddie’s Fund, The Pet Rescue Foundation, with support from the ASPCA, is a coalition of more than 150 animal rescue groups and shelters working with Animal Care & Control of New York City (AC&C) to end the killing of healthy and treatable cats and dogs at AC&C shelters. To achieve that goal, the Alliance, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, helps its Alliance Participating Organizations (APOs) work to their highest potential to increase pet adoptions and spay/neuter rates, with the goal of transforming New York City into a no-kill community by 2015. www.AnimalAllianceNYC.org
