If you need reduced-cost veterinary care or financial assistance to help pay for veterinary care for your companion animals in the New York City area, there are veterinary providers and financial assistance programs available that can make routine care or emergency treatment more affordable.

Ask your veterinarian if he/she can offer you a payment plan that would allow you to pay the bill over time.

Care Credit
Ask the veterinarian’s office if they take Care Credit. If you apply for Care Credit and are accepted, you can pay your pet’s veterinary bill over a limited-time period with NO interest.

ScratchPay
Allows qualified applicants to select a payment plan that accommodates their budget.

A number of programs offer financial help to pay for veterinary bills. Some of these programs are specific to a location, and most have specific funding guidelines, such as treating particular health conditions or breeds. 

Frankie’s Friends
Frankie’s Friends National Fund provides financial assistance grants to family-owned pets in need of lifesaving emergency or specialty veterinary care whose caregivers cannot afford the full cost of treatment. This program is designed to help with the treatment of emergency and specialty medical conditions where the pet would otherwise suffer, be euthanized, or relinquished without proper veterinary care.

Groupon
Sometimes has coupons for private veterinary offices that provide you with discounts on veterinary appointments and vaccines.

HSUS
Lists many resources for help with vet care, pet food, and other needs.

K9 of Mine
Lists 24 organizations that help pay vet bills.

The Pet Lifeline Financial Assistance Program
Offers one-time financial aid exclusively for non-basic, non-urgent veterinary care, such as cancer treatment, heart disease, chronic conditions, endocrine diseases, diabetes, eye diseases, IBD, etc. One recipient is selected each month to receive this one-time aid.

Positive Tails
Provides funding for lifesaving emergency veterinary care for those who can’t afford treatment, or for animals who are abandoned or abused. 

Red Rover
Helps animals rescued from disasters or neglect, domestic violence victims seeking safety with their pets, and animals with life-threatening illnesses.

Save-a-Pet
Lists national organizations that offer financial support to qualifying pet owners to assist with medical expenses.

Tripawds Foundation ASAP Program
Financial assistance for families of pets facing amputation surgery.

Vet-I-Care
Helps families secure the resources required to provide much needed specialty and emergency care for their pets.

Waggle
Crowdfunding solution that channels funds directly to verified veterinary providers to ensure 100% of funds go directly to the pet’s care.
