Low-Cost Temporary Pet Boarding & Foster Care Animal Care & Control of New York City's (AC&C) innovative Safety Net Program offers guidance, services, and solutions to people regarding problems they are having keeping their pet. The goal of the program is to help keep animals with their family by helping the family solve their problem. Services include behavior training/advice for dogs and cats (free phone consults and low-cost/sliding-scale home visits with certified trainers; low-cost temporary pet boarding or foster homes during crises; free guidance for pet-related landlord/tenant issues with possibility of pro bono representaion; allergy information and solutions; lower cost vet care for those on restricted incomes; guidance and advice for people who have found strays, including how to introduce a new pet to your current pets; and general guidance and support for pet guardians.
