Hartz Gives Pets a Day of Beauty in Preparation for Busy Adoption Season

Secaucus, NJ – Friday, May 18, 2007 – Some lucky dogs at the New York City Animal Care & Control's Brooklyn facility had a total beauty makeover, courtesy of The Hartz Mountain Corporation. Dogs that were scheduled to attend the Mayor's Alliance Animal Adoption Day in Prospect Park on Sunday, May 18th, were bathed, clipped, and cleaned in preparation for their new homes. Over twenty dogs, ranging from a 15-pound Puggle (Pug/Beagle mix) to a 190-pound Neapolitan Mastiff, had complete Hartz makeovers by Hartz employees. Each pet had its ears cleaned, nails trimmed, and a bath with a fresh smelling Hartz shampoo. The final steps of the Hartz beauty regime included a quick teeth cleaning and a Hartz Conditioning Spray body spritz.

The event was coordinated in honor of May's "Be Kind to Animals" celebration. "Hartz is a company of animal lovers," said Dr. Jill Richardson, Director of Consumer Relations at Hartz, "Helping out homeless pets is a great way to show our support to our animal community"
