Tabitha's On the Mend…Now She's Awaiting a New Home

Picasso Veterinary Fund in Action! (May 2009)

Whether she was struck by a car, attacked by another animal, or was the victim of human cruelty is unknown. But when a Good Samaritan found Tabitha, she was in great distress, with a gaping wound on her back. Fortunately, the young adult domestic short hair cat was brought to Murray Hill Pet Hospital in Manhattan where the Picasso Veterinary Fund paid for her emergency treatment that saved her life.

Murray Hill's Dr. Dan Lauridia carefully cleaned Tabitha's wound and closed it with sutures. After recovering from the trauma, she was spayed and microchipped. Now Tabitha is recovering at the hospital, and will soon be ready to be adopted into a permanent home.

Like many cats and dogs who wind up on the street facing the dangers associated with urban animal homelessness, Tabitha nearly died. But thanks to a Good Samaritan, the Picasso Veterinary Fund, and a compassionate and talented veterinarian, she is alive today and comfortably awaiting her next adventure — a loving home.

Tabitha's serious — and mysterious — injury was successfully treated, and she is now healthy and awaiting adoption.

Maybe you or someone you know would like to give Tabitha the love and security she so richly deserves. We know that she will be a wonderful companion cat. If you're interested in adopting Tabitha, please contact us at Picasso@AnimalAllianceNYC.org, or visit Tabitha on Petfinder. Or to meet other Picasso cats and dogs awaiting adoption, view our entire Petfinder pet list.

Perhaps you'd prefer to help Tabitha and the many other cats and dogs who receive critical medical care paid for by the Picasso Veterinary Fund each year by making a tax-deductible donation to the fund. Your generosity will help us to give more homeless cats and dogs a second chance by providing the critical medical care they need to get back on their feet and ready for adoption. You can make a convenient online donation here.

Tabitha thanks you. We thank you. And all the wonderful animals who are yet to be saved thank you!
