Jackie would love to go home
with you to celebrate many, many holidays together.
Left to Fend for Herself, Jackie Needs a Loving Home
Picasso Veterinary Fund in Action! (December 2008)
Jackie's life was tough from the very beginning.
Although the sweet two-year-old was the family pet, she spent her
life outdoors, dodging the hazards of life in the urban jungle —
predators, traffic, harsh weather…and the absence of affection.
When she became pregnant and developed urinary problems, her "family"
decided to give her up.
Fated to end up in a NYC Animal Care & Control
shelter, the Mayor's Alliance took Jackie into its Picasso
Veterinary Fund program. The fund pays for sick and injured
animals who would normally be euthanized at the city shelter because
of lack of money to pay for their necessary medical treatment. Jackie,
was lucky — the fund paid for her care at ABC
Animal Hospital, a Mayor's Alliance Picasso veterinary partner
in Manhattan. Then she was spayed to prevent future pregnancies
and health problems. Now Jackie is awaiting the next step in her
journey — a loving home of which she can truly be a part.
As the holidays approach, please consider two ways
you can help Jackie and others like her. First, if you're considering
adopting a cat, we suggest you give Jackie a chance. She's a real
doll — sweet and affectionate — and will no doubt return
your act of kindness by being a loyal and loving companion. Contact
us at picasso@AnimalAllianceNYC.org
if you'd like to meet Jackie.
If you're not looking to adopt a cat right now,
you still can help by giving the gift of hope to other cats and
dogs in need of medical care and a new home. Make a gift this holiday
season by donating to the Picasso Veterinary Fund. It's easy to
donate online, and you can enhance your
gift by pledging to make automatic monthly donations using your
credit card. Maybe $10, $15, or $25 each month doesn't sound like
a lot, but it adds up to a tremendously appreciated gift of hope
for so many animals.
Share the season's spirit of giving with the animals.
And have a joyous holiday and rewarding new year!
A
Great Gift Idea for the Holidays!
Make a life-saving donation to the Picasso
Veterinary Fund in honor of a friend or loved one this holiday
season! The person you name as the gift recipient will receive
a colorful holiday e-card letting them know that a generous
gift was made in their honor. Your donation will be put directly
to work for NYC's homeless dogs and cats — helping them
to move closer to a new home and a far happier New Year.
In order to have a holiday e-card sent with
your gift, please be sure to:
Make your donation online no later
than December 15, 2008.
3)
Include
both your honoree's name and e-mail address
in the "Dedication or Gift" field.
4)
Include
your e-mail address where asked when making
the donation so that we can contact you promptly on
the off chance we run into an issue delivering the holiday
e-card. (Our apologies, but we are not able to mail
paper cards.)
For a gift that keeps giving all year, please
indicate that you'd like to make
a recurring donation. This option is at the top of
the first page of the link under "Donation Preferences."
These recurring donations are a much-appreciated source of
ongoing support for our work.
Thank you so much for including NYC's homeless
dogs and cats in your holiday!
