Online TNR Caretaker Training Course Online Course: "Trap-Neuter-Return: How to Manage a Feral Cat Colony" The course is intended to teach people how to be safe and effective caretakers of feral cat colonies by using the Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) approach. Because the course covers both the theory and practical application of TNR in detail, it will also be useful for anyone interested in starting a TNR program or advocating for the acceptance of TNR in their community. This self-paced course will describe each step in the TNR process in detail, including working with neighbors and the community at large, feeding, setting up adequate shelter, arranging for spay/neuter, trapping (including preparations, equipment, and techniques), caring for the cats while they're confined, and other feral cat issues like rabies, wildlife, and relocation. In addition, the course will discuss why TNR works to reduce feral cat numbers and why other methods, such as trap and remove, have failed. By the end of the course, you will be intimately familiar with both the theory and practical application of Trap-Neuter-Return. Upon completion, New York City residents will qualify for the free services of the NYC Feral Cat Initiative and free spay/neuter services for feral cats from the ASPCA and the Humane Society of New York. Sponsor: Humane Society University (a program of the Humane Society of the United States) Course Fee: $50 More Info & Registration: Get more information or register for this online course.
