SaveKitty Foundation is continuing to monitor the feral cat situation at Ravenswood Houses in Queens. Photo by Rosary Immordino Report from Ravenswood by Rosary Immordino, SaveKitty Foundation On September 9, SaveKitty Foundation completed its search of the Ravenswood Houses crawlspaces and was satisfied that there were no more cats trapped inside. We rescued eight, and five got out on their own through openings the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) originally missed and has subsequently closed, thanks to our rescue efforts. Unfortunately, two cats were found dead. Since then, we have continued to monitor the situation at Ravenswood. Recently, we got word that a kitten was trapped inside another crawlspace. It entered through an opening NYCHA missed that has since been closed. NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg again stepped in and permitted us to go inside where, after a few days of searching, SaveKitty President Debi Romano succeeded in rescuing not one, but five seven-week-old-kittens! Debi will continue to monitor the situation and rescue any cats that become trapped inside. SaveKitty wants to thank all of you who made calls and sent e-mails to the media and public officials.
