Tweets and Posts and Shares…Oh, My! by Krista Menzel, Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals If you use any of the many online social networking services — Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Digg, Delicious, Blogger, StumbledUpon, LinkedIn, etc. — you can easily spread the word about the NYC Feral Cat Initiative (NYCFCI) and Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) efforts in New York City. Earlier this spring, we created a Facebook Cause as a tool to raise funds for the NYCFCI, announce upcoming TNR events and news, post interesting articles about feral cat care, and network people who are performing TNR or support TNR in the Big Apple. We hope that every person who joins the Cause will invite some of their Facebook "friends" to also join — which could potentially inspire some great conversations and public education about TNR and the NYCFCI. We also hope that Facebook members will take advantage of the new AddThis button at the top of each page of the NYCFCI website to post TNR articles, news, and event announcements to their profiles. Join the NYCFCI Facebook Cause now! The Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals is now tweeting! Follow the Mayor's Alliance on Twitter to receive our quick announcements of events, news, services, and stories about animals in New York City — including feral cats. Of course, you are encouraged to retweet anything you want to promote to your followers. As a Twitter user, you can also tweet links to anything you find on the NYCFCI, Mayor's Alliance, or Picasso Veterinary Fund websites using the AddThis button found at the top of each page of these sites. Follow the Mayor's Alliance on Twitter now! Share Articles with AddThis Each page of the NYC Feral Cat Initiative, Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals, and Picasso Veterinary Fund websites now has a button that makes posting, tweeting, bookmarking, and sharing articles a snap!
