Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists Donates Food to Mayor's Alliance Groups

Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists' holiday food drive benefited Mayor's Alliance Participating Organizations.

Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists (FAVS), a 24-hour emergency veterinary hospital with a long association with the Mayor's Alliance through its care for dozens of cats and dogs whose lives have been saved by the Picasso Veterinary Fund of the Mayor's Alliance, staged a food donation drive in December to benefit Mayor's Alliance Participating Organizations.

Calling upon its clients and staff to share their bounty with some of NYC's less fortunate animals, FAVS collected hundreds of cans of dog and cat food, which in January were turned over to the Mayor's Alliance for distribution to some of its member groups.

Among the organizations that received the donated food were CSM Stray Foundation, Earth Angels Canine Rescue, Linda's Feral Cat Assistance, Poor Animals of St. Francis, and SaveKitty Foundation.

The Mayor's Alliance wishes to thank FAVS Hospital Manager Monica Dunn, Medical Director Dr. Sheri Berger, and the staff, along with Hill's and Wagging Tails Doggie Day Care (which assisted in the effort) for their continued generosity of spirit and support of New York City's homeless animals. We look forward to welcoming members of the FAVS staff as the featured veterinarians at our "Ask the Vet" table at Mayor's Alliance/Maddie's Pet Adoption Festivals later this year.
