The contest is sponsored by the creators of the hilarious new play, Heartworm, that will premier in NYC next year. And they're donating 10% of the proceeds from the contest to support the Picasso Veterinary Fund. What's more, they're donating 10% of the funds donated to produce the play in New York to the Picasso Veterinary Fund!

Maggie Maes, Artistic Director of ActorsLoftTheatreCo. and the Executive Producer of Heartworm, spoke with us at the Mayor's Alliance Pet Adoption Festival at St. Paul's on April 9. She expressed her delight in being able to support the Picasso Veterinary Fund, and suggested other ways in which the production company might support the Alliance's mission. For example, Maggie suggested that, for the run of the play in NYC, shelter dogs could appear onstage just before the show at each Saturday matinee, and greet the audience outside during intermission.
