TV Spots Promoting Animal Shelter Adoption Premier
on Local Channels in NYC
|
Along with two other 30-second
public service announcements, Rational Animal's Nap
spot will persuade New Yorkers to adopt their next pet
from an animal shelter or rescue organization. |
|
Some local dogs and cats who landed starring roles
in three
new TV spots are hoping to create new destinies for thousands
of their fellow shelter and rescue animals.
The PSAs promote the adoption of animals from shelters
and rescue groups. They are the first in a series of media campaigns
created by Rational
Animal, a NYC media think tank for animal welfare, for the Mayor's
Alliance. The spots will be aired on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, NY 1, and
other local stations.
The TV spots — Language
Class, Business
Trip, and Nap
— were developed to bring the adoption message home to New
Yorkers in a memorable way. Each 30-second spot features a clever
scenario designed to grab the viewer's attention. They use humor,
professional actors, and, in two of the three spots, actual shelter
animals, to persuade viewers to adopt their next pet from an animal
shelter or rescue organization.
TV viewers who see the spots are encouraged to visit
BigApplePets.com,
the web site where hundreds of animals in the care of NYC shelters
and rescue organizations are posted for potential adopters to view
online.
Both English and Spanish language versions of the
spots are being aired. Although they will premier in NYC, the spots
will be available to any community that wants to broadcast them
locally.
