An AC&C Manhattan
shelter dog rests comfortably on one of the 156
new beds donated by the Mayor's Alliance. |

Dogs at AC&C's
Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Staten Island shelters are sleeping
more comfortably during their stay at the shelter, thanks
to a donation by the Mayor's Alliance of 156 new dog beds.
The new beds are valued at more than $8,000. |

On September 29, 2004, the
Mayor's Alliance hosted an informal get-together at the offices
of the New York City Bar Association for AC&C's New Hope
Coordinators and representatives from 10 breed rescue organizations.
The gathering provided the AC&C staff members with an
unusual and valuable opportunity to get to know some of the
breed rescuers who work collaboratively with AC&C to move
pure breed animals out of the city's shelters and into the
care of breed rescue groups — on their way to permanent
homes. |

And we're delighted to report that wheels
are turning!…The new Alliance
transport van that you read about in last month's Out
of the Cage! has been on the road transporting AC&C
animals to other area shelters and rescue groups on the first
leg of their journey to permanent loving homes. |
If you'd like to find out how you can help the
animals at AC&C, please contact the Mayor's Alliance at info@AnimalAllianceNYC.org.
