New York, NY – Tuesday, April 26, 2011 – Doggie Date Night, hosted by PetsDating.com is a chance for NY dogs to mix, mutt, and mingle, plus, meet the Doggie Moms and enjoy a drink! Join the fun on Friday, May 20, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural & Educational Center located at 107 Suffolk Street, New York, NY.

Highlights of the event include photos with meteorologist Ron Trotta's talented weather predicting Yorkie, Schmitty the Weather Dog, which will benefit the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals, a coalition of more than 150 animal rescue groups and shelters with the mission of transforming New York City into a no-kill community by 2015. The event will also feature chances to win prizes, meet adoptable dogs, and be filmed for Pet Fashion TV.

At Doggie Date Night, pets and their parents can create a free profile on PetsDating.com, a supportive online community where both pet owners and their pets can connect with others just like them, as well as access important and relevant pet related information and beneficial resources.

About the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals®

The Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals, Inc., founded in 2002 and powered by Maddie's Fund®, The Pet Rescue Foundation, with support from the ASPCA, is a coalition of more than 150 animal rescue groups and shelters working with Animal Care & Control of NYC (AC&C) to end the killing of healthy and treatable cats and dogs at AC&C shelters. To achieve that goal, the Alliance, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, helps its Alliance Participating Organizations (APOs) work to their highest potential to increase pet adoptions and spay/neuter rates, with the goal of transforming New York City into a no-kill community by 2015. www.AnimalAllianceNYC.org
