Central Park – An Adopt-a-thon As Big As the City Itself – ANIMALL!

New York, NY – Monday, May 3, 2004 – On Sunday, May 23rd, from noon to 5:00 p.m., Central Park's Bandshell on the Mall turns into the largest open-air outdoor animal adopt-a-thon for NYC's finest shelter cats and dogs looking to find their forever homes.

Hosted by the ASPCA, the Central Park Adopt-a-thon features one-of-a-kind cats and dogs from numerous animal rescue groups and shelters such as Animal Haven, the ASPCA, BARC, the Humane Society of New York, and Animal Care & Control of NYC, along with scores of other rescue groups that make up the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals.

There will be a wonderful assortment of pure breeds, mystery breeds, and special mutt lineages that will be sure to make your new companion animal the talk of the town, and many activities to participate in while you consider which little New Yorker is your perfect match! Come hear the strolling Dixieland band, consult the pet psychic, microchip your pet to make sure they get home safe if they stray, visit the "Ask the Veterinarian," "Ask the Groomer," and "Ask the Trainer" booths for advice on how to keep your new friend feeling, looking, and acting his or her best! This is the first in a series of adoption events to be held throughout the City in a park near you during 2004.

Adopt a Little New Yorker Today!
