Mayor's Alliance Team "Miles For Paws" Takes to the Streets in this Year's NYC Marathon
On Sunday, November 7, the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals will be represented in the ING New York City Marathon as part of the marathon's Community Charity Program. Before a crowd of two million cheering spectators and 315 million worldwide television viewers, five athletes who comprise our Team "Miles For Paws" will participate in the race to raise money to support our lifesaving programs for NYC's homeless animals.
"Miles For Paws" team members include Jodi and Bruce Dougherty, Lou Rodriguez, Carl Mister, and Debbie Fierro — a Mayor's Alliance Wheels of Hope transport driver. You can read about each runner at www.MilesForPaws.org.
We hope you'll support Team "Miles For Paws" — and the animals for whom they are running — by making a pledge for individual team members, or for the entire team.
You also can show your support by cheering our runners on from the sidelines. They'll each be wearing a snappy "Miles For Paws" t-shirt, so watch for them. To choose a convenient location to watch the race, view a map of the marathon route.
Did you know that when you run for a charity, you're guaranteed entry to the ING New York City Marathon? If you're interested in joining Team "Miles For Paws" to participate in future events, please contact Barbara Tolan at barbara@AnimalAllianceNYC.org.
