"Maria's Pet Project" Celebrates 100 Shelter Dogs Adopted on LX New York
This month, the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals and "Maria's Pet Project" achieved a milestone when adoptions from the LX New York weekly adoption segment reached 100. To celebrate the achievement, Maria Sansone, one of the hosts of the NBC daily lifestyle and entertainment show and creator of "Maria's Pet Project," has invited all the adopters and their dogs to join her for a special reception on November 4 at the Hotel Indigo in Manhattan.
Since March, "Maria's Pet Project" has featured dogs from numerous Alliance Participating Organizations on the show, giving viewers a chance to meet their furry new best friend on their TV screen. The show provides viewers with an immediate connection to the dogs and the rescue organizations that handle the adoptions, and the results have been amazing.
"We are deeply grateful to Maria and her team at NBC, not only for providing these homeless dogs with a marvelous opportunity to fine new homes, but also for their sensitivity and commitment to making it happen week after week," says Jane Hoffman, Mayor's Alliance President.
