Maddie's Fund
Any funds received from Maddie's
Fund shall be distributed in accordance with the guidelines
specifically set forth in the grant application.
Other Funding
The Alliance may retain any funds raised in order
to defray its own operating expenses and for programs, which the
Board of Directors determines, in its sole discretion, is in the
joint interest of the Alliance Participating Organizations (APOs).
The Alliance will accept grant proposals from all
APOs for projects which will further the goals of the Alliance.
The Board of Directors, in its sole discretion,
shall determine the awarding of such grants. The Board of Directors
may consider the following criteria in making such award: (i) need
of the APO, (ii) the extent to which the grant will fulfill the
goals and purposes of the Alliance, (iii) the APO's prior record
in achieving Alliance goals and purposes, and (iv) a demonstrated
record of fiscal responsibility.
In order for AC&C to be eligible to apply for a grant
from the Alliance, a separate account must be established by AC&C.
Funds in this account shall be utilized only for certain designated purposes,
as described below. Amounts expended from this account for any such purpose
shall supplement, and not replace, amounts budgeted for that purpose by
AC&C pursuant to its contract with the NYC DOH.
Such designated purposes shall include: (i) improving
the procedure for providing animals to APOs, (ii) bringing AC&C
animals to Mayor's Alliance/Maddie's Pet Adoption Festivals, (iii)
providing for the spaying and neutering of non-shelter animals,
(iv) developing an active volunteer program and (v) any other purpose
approved by the Alliance.
Such account shall be subject to audit by an independent
auditor selected by the Alliance and the receipt of such funds shall be
reported to the NYC Council on a monthly basis.
