Upcoming Spay/Neuter Clinics Saturday, May 23, 2009 Noon–3:00 p.m. Rockaway Freeway Dog Park, Rockaway Freeway between Beach 8th and Beach 82nd Streets, Queens An animal awareness day to promote responsible dog ownership, animal citizenship, and use of city parks. Dog and cat adoptions by North Shore Animal League. Low-cost microchipping ($25, includes insertion and registration) for dogs and cats by the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals. Low-cost spay/neuter (free with proof of public assistance, otherwise $75 per animal) by the ASPCA. Lots of activities for dogs and dog owners, including pet giveaways and animal training demonstrations. Admission is free. Featured Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Programs Maddie's Spay/Neuter Project in NYC If you reside within the five boroughs of New York City and are on public assistance, you can have up to a total of 6 cats or dogs (or a combination of cats/dogs totaling no more than 6) spayed or neutered each year for a special low price at participating clinics. ASPCA Mobile Spay/Neuter Clinics Free spay/neuter, rabies and distemper vaccination, nail trim, e-collar, and microchip on a mobile clinic in all five boroughs with proof of public assistance. $75 per animal if you are not on public assistance.
