Fall Fix
Being a responsible pet owner can sometimes place unexpected financial demands on those who want to provide the best care for their pets. The first Saturday in October, the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals and the ASPCA stage their annual Fall Fix (formerly Fall Fiesta) on the north end of Central Park at 110th Street and Lenox Avenue/Malcolm X Boulevard. Fall Fix offers pet owners the opportunity to give their wallets a break with free services for dogs and cats, including spay/neuter surgeries by the ASPCA and microchipping by the Mayor's Alliance.
New Yorkers looking to adopt a furry new family member can also meet wonderful cats and dogs available for adoption on the ASPCA's mobile adoption van at Fall Fix. And those seeking information about pet-related issues can speak with veterinarians, trainers, groomers, TTouch specialists, and other animal care experts. The event also features giveaways and great photo ops for kids with the six-foot Maddie's Fund Miniature Schnauzer mascot.
