For the Love of Dog rescues dogs — mostly Rottweilers. Adoptable dogs are kept in private foster care, where they are temperament tested for human interaction, food and toy possessiveness, and behavior with other animals. They adopt dogs to guardians in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and sometimes Vermont, Maine, and Connecticut, depending on the person and the dog. For the Love of Dog also publishes a rottie rescue newsletter, Rotts On Parade. For the Love of Dog is a member of the New York Breed Rescue Network of the Mayor's Alliance.
